CHEMICAL PROPERTIES
Melamine is a weak alkalescent and can react with different acids to form melamine salt.
It hydrolyses in strong acids or alkali solutions.
In the process of hydrolyzing, hydroxyl group gradually substitutes amide to form diamide cyanurate, amide cyanurate and cyanuric acid.
“Addition compound “can be formed by reaction of melamine with aldehyed, one important example is reaction of melamine with formaldehyde solution.
